The present invention relates to a signal processing unit for accurately estimating from a time-domain signal (y(t), y(kT s )) at least one frequency (f i ) and corresponding amplitude (A i ) of at least one complex exponential. The signal processing unit is configured to transform the time-domain signal (y(t), y(kT s )) into a frequency-domain signal (Y(f)), and to detect at least one peak frequency (f peak ) in a power spectrum of the frequency-domain signal (Y(f)). The signal processing unit is further configured to determine at least one frequency band of interest (BoI) corresponding to the at least one peak frequency (f peak ), and to determine at least one signal-to-noise ratio (SNR BoI ) corresponding to the at least one frequency band of interest (BoI). The signal processing unit is further configured to perform at least one subsequent time-domain processing step for accurately estimating, based on the time-domain signal (y(t), y(kT s )), the at least one frequency (f i ) and corresponding amplitude (A i ) of the at least one complex exponential using the at least one frequency band of interest (BoI) and/or the at least one signal-to-noise ratio (SNR BoI ). |
