In a U-,shape bob pin comprising a pair of flexible, opposed legs and a connecting loop portion, all of greater width than thickness, the loop and adjacent portions of the legs are formed concavo-convex in cross-section and of gradually increasing width and decreasing thickness towards the centre of the loop, the outer surface of the loop and of the adjacent parts of the legs, being convex. As shown, the pin 10 is formed of half-round resilient wire, the plain leg 12 and the crimped leg 11 being of uniform width and of uniform thickness from the point 15 to the free ends of the legs. To increase the clamping force applied by the legs, the loop end 14 of the pin, is formed concavo-convex in cross-section at 17 and of gradually increasing width and decreasing thickness from the point 15 towards the centre of the loop 13. In modifications the pin is made from resilient flat wire, the legs increasing in width and decreasing in thickness from the loop towards their free ends, and the crimped leg is formed with ratchet-like crimps. |
