<p>PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to safely operate a system during driving and to prevent fire in spite of the increased number of battery cells and energy capacity. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery comprises: a battery module in which a plurality of unit battery cells are arranged, and a VTMS(voltage temperature management system) by using information to about the unit battery cell. The VTMS comprises a cell balancing circuit part, a cell temperature sensing part, a cell voltage/current sensing part, a control part generating information by detecting the abnormal state of the unit battery cells, and a communication part transmitting the information about abnormal state.
