PURPOSE: A flux gate sensor and a sensing method using the same are provided to improve the reliability of a sensing result. CONSTITUTION: A flux gate sensor(200) includes a sensing unit(210), a property compensating unit(220), and an output unit(230). The sensing unit outputs a voltage signal according to an external magnetic field. The property compensating unit applies a compensation magnetic field corresponding to the voltage signal outputted from the sensing unit to an external magnetic field in an offset direction of the external magnetic field. The output unit outputs a size of a signal related to the compensation magnetic field of the property compensating unit into a digital value.
