PURPOSE: A shock absorbing device for a road guiderail and a guiderail assembly using the same are provided to minimize damage to a vehicle and facilities by effectively absorbing shock applied to a guiderail. CONSTITUTION: A guiderail assembly using a shock absorbing device for a road guiderail comprises posts(5), a guiderail, and a shock absorber. The posts are installed along the side of a road at uniform intervals. The guiderail is horizontally installed in the posts and is supported to the posts. Each shock absorber comprises a rubber block(30) and a coupling unit. The rubber blocks are installed between the posts and the guiderail and absorb shock transferred from the guiderail. The coupling units couple the rubber blocks to the gap between the posts and the guiderail. Each rubber block comprises first, second, third, and contact pads. The first, second, and third pads have multiple shock absorbing holes. The contact pad is coupled to the rear surface of the third pad, and the rear surface thereof touches the post.
