PURPOSE: An isolation device for vibration control of electric equipment is provided to selectively allow horizontal displacement according to a horizontal load and effectively dissipate energy through frictional damping. CONSTITUTION: An isolation device for vibration control of electric equipment comprises a lower fixing member(111), an upper fixing member(112), a horizontal displacement member(133), a pressing member(131), a first friction pad(121), a second friction pad, and a sliding member(114). The horizontal displacement member is installed to horizontally displace between the lower and upper fixing members and displaced along with electric equipment. The pressing member is elastically supported at the underside of the horizontal displacement member to press the lower fixing member. The first and second friction pads are fixed to the top of the lower fixing member and the bottom of the pressing member, respectively and contact each other with friction. The first and second friction pads restrict the horizontal displacement of the horizontal displacement member and the pressing member under a horizontal load less than a predetermined level while allowing horizontal displacement under a horizontal load of the predetermined level or greater to induce frictional damping. The sliding member is installed in the upper fixing member and contacts the top of the horizontal displacement member to allow the horizontal displacement member to displace in a horizontal direction, not to displace upward.
