<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct-injection four-stroke engine with high flexibility of intake system. <P>SOLUTION: The four-stroke engine 1 includes a cylinder head 3 and a fuel injection device 18. A combustion chamber 12, an intake port 13 that communicates with the combustion chamber 12, and an accommodation hole 20 that communicates the combustion chamber 12 and the intake port 13 are formed in the cylinder head 3. The fuel injection device 18 directly supplies a fuel mist to the combustion chamber 12 by jetting the fuel mist to the combustion chamber 12.
