<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect overheat of a rotary electric machine by avoiding increase of a heating value in startup or driving and sharp rise of temperature of a switching element because heat generation of the switching element in starting and driving of an assist or the like is caused by heat generation due to passage of current or heat generation due to loss in switching-off generated by current interruption. <P>SOLUTION: A field current and a phase shift quantity are changed by using arithmetic means 426 in each of a B-terminal voltage and a rotational speed detected by respective detection means 422, 423 from a map stored in map storage means 425 so that voltage rise in switching-off is eased by using avalanche breakdown of a semiconductor switching element for a power circuit and a current allowed to flow into the switching element in switching-off becomes approximately minimum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
