An alloy of about equal parts copper and iron is electrically welded to a moving machine part to form a bearing surface or facing thereon. Specific reference is made to reciprocating parts such as the slides of cross-heads, machine tools, &c. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 refers to rotating parts such as shafts, e.g. the crank-shafts of engines. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
