PRODUCTION METHOD OF ORIGINAL PLATE FOR PATTERN ALIGNMENT LAYER FOR THREE-DIMENSIONAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original plate for a pattern alignment layer for three-dimensional display, the original plate allowing easy and mass production of a pattern alignment layer with which a high-quality pattern retardation film for a three-dimensional display device can be formed.

SOLUTION: A production method of an original plate for a pattern alignment layer for three-dimensional display is provided, the method including: a first layer formation step of forming a first layer made of a metal material or an inorganic material; a first concavo-convex structure formation step of forming a minute linear concavo-convex structure approximately in a given direction on the surface of the first layer; a second layer formation step of forming a second layer made of a metal material or an inorganic material on the surface of the first layer after the first concavo-convex structure formation step; a second concavo-convex structure formation step of forming a minute linear concavo-convex structure approximately in a given direction on the surface of the second layer, the given direction different by 90° from the direction in the first concavo-convex structure formation step; a resist formation step of forming a resist in parallel strips on the surface of the second layer after the second concavo-convex structure formation step; a second layer peeling step of peeling an exposed second layer after the resist formation step; and a resist peeling step of peeling the resist.
