<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that ascertains a normal state and an abnormal state of the apparatus concerning opening of an opening/closing cover opened/closed when a toner container is attached/detached, and is properly controlled in response to respective states. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming part having a developing part; a toner container attachable to/detachable from an apparatus body; an intermediate hopper for replenishing the developing part with a toner in the toner container; a toner remaining amount detecting sensor for detecting a toner remaining amount in the intermediate hopper; an opening/closing cover opened/closed when the toner container is attached/detached; an opening/closing detecting sensor for detecting opening/closing movement of the opening/closing cover; and a main control part. The main control part, during execution of a print job, continues image formation concerning the print job when the opening/closing cover is opened and the toner amount in the intermediate hopper is less than a fixed amount, and stops image formation concerning the print job when the opening/closing cover is opened and the toner amount in the intermediate hopper is the fixed amount or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
