<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission reception system in which the transmission information from a transmission side can be made to match the reception capability on a reception side, and the lack of reception capability on the reception side can be avoided. <P>SOLUTION: According to a transmission reception system, a cellular phone 3000 transmits a Get Max Information signal requesting the reception capability information indicating the reception capability of a heating cooker 1000 to the heating cooker 1000. Upon receiving the Get Max Information signal from the cellular phone 3000, the heating cooker 1000 makes an OK signal to be transmitted, as a reception capability signal representing the reception capability information indicating the reception capability, from an infrared ray transmission reception unit 210 to the cellular phone 3000 under control of a controller 200.
