<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic contactor capable of reliably extinguishing an arc by restraining an arc generation position. <P>SOLUTION: The electromagnetic contactor is provided with a contact device 100 comprising a pair of stationary contacts 111, 112 arranged at a predetermined interval, and a movable contact 130 arranged attachably/separably on a pair of the stationary contacts 111, 112.
