MOVEMENT ENVIRONMENT RECOGNITION DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movement environment recognition device capable of acquiring shape recognition information of a measuring object at a high speed and with high accuracy.

SOLUTION: Circular cone scanning means 1 for performing circular cone scanning of a measuring object 7 is provided. The circular cone scanning means includes a movement environment detector 3, and an external world recognition device 9 for processing information measured by the movement environment detector. The external world recognition device includes movement environment detecting means for calculating the angle of inclination and inclination direction of the measuring object and a distance to a measuring object center on the basis of measurement data of the circular cone scanning means, surface shape determining means for determining the surface shape of each measuring object on the basis of calculation data of the measuring object calculated by the movement environment detecting means, and shape recognizing means for recognizing the shape of a predetermined measuring object determined to be a horizontal surface by the surface shape determining means.
