CONTENTS RECEIVER AND CONTENTS RECEPTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a contents receiver to present contents to a user in consideration of the difference between a planar video and a stereoscopic video when planar video contents and stereoscopic video contents are mixedly supplied.

SOLUTION: A contents receiver comprises: a downloader which receives video contents and metadata described to associate the video contents with attribute information of the video contents via a network and stores the metadata in a recording medium; a user operation unit which accepts input of an item used to search for stereoscopic video contents; a metadata processing unit which analyzes the metadata stored in the recording medium to acquire stereoscopic video contents information related to the stereoscopic video contents and identifies video contents having attributes corresponding to the input item on the basis of the acquired stereoscopic video contents; and means for displaying a list of the identified video contents.
