<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start operation of a stroke simulation function more smoothly. <P>SOLUTION: The pedal feeling simulator part 3 of a master cylinder has a rise load reduction part 28. The rise load reduction part 28 has a rise load reduction spring 29. The elastic modulus of the rise load reduction spring 29 is set smaller than that of a simulator operation piston return spring 16. Therefore, when the rise load reduction spring 29 is pressed by an input shaft 4, it starts bending elastically before a simulator operation piston starts moving forward by the elastic bending of the simulator operation piston return spring 16.
