<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of particulate matter or smoke in exhaust gas through a low-cost means in an cylinder direct injection spark ignition internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: In the cylinder direct injection spark ignition gasoline engine 10A, the bottom of a cooling water jacket 36 provided at the side of an exhaust valve 28 is made shallower than that of a cooling water jacket 34 provided at a side of an injector 32 and the volume is reduced. As a result, cooling effect of the cooling water jacket 36 is suppressed, an exhaust valve side piston apex surface 16 is maintained in a high-temperature state, and a vaporization rate of a liquid fuel injected to the exhaust valve side piston apex surface 16 is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
