<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle speed calculation device that calculates a vehicle speed with high accuracy when a vehicle starts to move. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic control device 80 functions as a vehicle speed calculation device that calculates a vehicle speed V, on the basis of a predetermined number NSPv of vehicle speed pulse signals SPv. The electronic control device 80 calculates the vehicle speed V so that when the vehicle starts to move, the weight of the latest vehicle speed pulse signal SPv in speed calculation is larger than that of the vehicle speed pulse signal SPv obtained before the latest vehicle speed pulse signal SPv. When the vehicle starts to move, an influence of an old vehicle speed pulse signal SPv on the calculated vehicle speed V can be reduced, thereby allowing the electronic control device 80 to accurately calculate the vehicle speed V when the vehicle starts to move.
