FIELD: process engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to production of slabs with cross-section width of 750-3500 mm and thickness of 30-500 mm at continuous casting machines. Machine is equipped with electromagnetic brake to affect directly the fluid jets flowing out from immersion nozzle 2 of casting mould 1. At least, two poles 10 are arranged on every casting mold wide side 3 in symmetry about vertical characteristic axis 4 of immersion nozzle 2.
