<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of obtaining a wide, high pressure nip without making a fixing member large in size and a stable nip by improving the positional accuracy of the fixing member. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing device comprises, in the order in a pressing direction to form a nip: a heating roller 78 which is heated by a heat source 84 and rotated; a fixing member 74 in sliding contact with a part of the outer peripheral surface of the heat roller 78; a flexible fixing belt 77 stretched between the heat roller 78 and the fixing member 74; and a pressure roller 72 which comes in press contact with the fixing member 74 through the fixing belt 77 to form a nip part and drives and rotates the fixing belt. The pressure of the nip part is applied by a pressing force between the heat roller 78 and the pressure roller 72 through the fixing belt 77 and the fixing member 74, and the fixing member 74 has a contact part 74-1 in sliding contact with the heating roller 78 on both side parts across the nip part in the circumferential direction of the heating roller 78. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
