<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extending an underground floor and a structure for reinforcing an earth retaining wall which can extend an underground floor below an existing building without demolishing an existing earth retaining wall, in a limited site. <P>SOLUTION: A method for extending an earth retaining wall comprises a step of boring a vertical hole 21 penetrating an existing earth retaining wall 10, a step of inserting a steel material 22 into the vertical hole 21 and making the bottom edge of the steel material 22 project downwards from the earth retaining wall 10, and a step of packing a filler in the space between the inner wall surface of the vertical hole 21 and the steel material 22.
