<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight of an entire arm while ensuring required strength. <P>SOLUTION: A construction machine arm is provided, in which an arm 11 of a hydraulic shovel 1 is formed as a box-shaped structure surrounded by left and right side plates 12 and 13; an upper plate 14; a lower plate 15; and a thick rear plate 16. Furthermore, on an outer surface 14A3 of a thick rear upper plate 14A forming the upper plate 14, an auxiliary welding member 24 is provided so as to surround a bracket-side weld bead 26A formed between the front side of a bucket cylinder bracket 23 and the thick rear upper plate 14A. Fillet-welding is applied over the entire periphery between an outer peripheral edge of the auxiliary welding member 24 and the thick rear upper plate 14A. Accordingly, the thick rear upper plate 14A and each bucket cylinder bracket 23 can be prevented from being significantly deformed by the load acting on each bucket cylinder bracket 23.
