摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of maintaining an idling stop state which helps to restrict the degradation of a fuel cell stack over a long period of time, and a method for controlling the fuel cell system. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system includes an ECU which, when a prescribed idling stop commencement condition is met during idling power generation, places a fuel cell stack into an idling stop state by reducing the number of revolutions of an air pump and the discharge current value of the fuel cell stack below those at idling power generation time within a range greater than 0. Assuming it as a condition for release from the idling stop state that a minimum cell voltage value CV_low of the fuel cell stack drops below a release threshold B, the ECU reduces the discharge current value proportionately as the minimum cell voltage value CV_low of the fuel cell stack becomes smaller to ensure that the minimum cell voltage value CV_low of the fuel cell stack will not drop below the release threshold B. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
