<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a flight distance with a club with a small loft angle, and meanwhile to stabilize a flight distance of a hit ball with a club with a large loft angle. <P>SOLUTION: This iron type golf club set 1 includes a set of n iron type golf clubs, n being an integer of 3 or more, each having a different loft angle. Concerning the clubs of the set, the head moment of inertia A per unit mass represented by a ratio MI/m of the moment of inertia MI of the head alone around a horizontal axis passing through the head center of gravity and being parallel to the face with respect to the head mass m increases in the order from the iron type golf club with the smallest loft angle to the iron type golf club with the largest loft angle.
