<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a playing aid of a stringed instrument capable of improving performance expressions and performance methods in various ways in accordance with an image of music and the variation in development of music, and to provide a stringed instrument including the playing aid. <P>SOLUTION: In the playing aid of a stringed instrument, a finger rest 7 extending from a bridge 12 of a stringed instrument 1 to a neck rear end part 4 in the same direction as strings 3 is provided integrally with a bottom fixing part 6 fixed to a body 2 of the stringed instrument 1, and a pickup fence 14 not covering the G-string is provided.
