<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable control of a distance from a parallax barrier to a flat display with secure linkage to movement of a viewer, even if the viewer of the display has a larger movement range and higher movement frequency, in a stereoscopic image display device. <P>SOLUTION: In a stereoscopic image display device 1, a distance between a flat display 2 and a viewer is measured.
