<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a stroke quantity of a shock absorber with a simple and compact structure. <P>SOLUTION: The shock absorber 1 of a motorcycle includes a telescopically fitted inner tube 6 and an outer tube 5, a hydraulic pressure shock absorbing hydraulic fluid 11 arranged inside the tubes, and an air chamber 2 for changing the volume by the expansion, adopts a stroke detecting device 34 having at least a pressure detecting means 3 arranged in the air chamber 2 and detecting air pressure in the air chamber, and a stroke quantity arithmetic operation means 20 for converting a stroke quantity of the shock absorber from a detecting value of the pressure detecting means, includes stroke position detecting means 14 and 15 for measuring an actual stroke quantity S2 for a correction by detecting a predetermined stroke position of the shock absorber 1, includes a temperature detecting means 4 arranged in the air chamber 2 and detecting the air temperature in the air chamber, and converts a stroke quantity S1 of the shock absorber 1 from the detecting value of the pressure detecting means 3 and the temperature detecting means 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
