PURPOSE: A system and method for monitoring a welding machine for building a ship are provided to monitor the state of welding machine by relaying a wireless signal between the communication devices. CONSTITUTION: A communication device(110) for a welding machine senses the state information of a welding machine(100). The communication device for the welding machine wirelessly transmits the sensed state information. A wireless relay device(101) communicates with the communication device for the welding machine. A host computer(120) connects to the wireless relay device through a network cable(102). The host computer monitors the state of the welding machine by communicating with the communication device for the welding machine.
