<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a triorganosiloxy end-capped organopolysiloxane in which the molecular weight and viscosity can be readily controlled so as to stably achieve a desirable molecular weight and desirable viscosity. <P>SOLUTION: Silanol group-terminated organosilane or organopolysiloxane is copolymerized with tris(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)trimethylcyclo-trisiloxane through living polymerization in an organic solvent in the presence of an alkyl lithium catalyst or a lithium silanolate catalyst not inducing non-specific condensation reaction upon ring-opening polymerization and a polymerization promoter to prepare the copolymer whose molecular chain terminal is blocked with a silanol group (or its lithium salt). Then, the catalyst is neutralized with a weak acid, the organic solvent is distilled away, and the terminal silanol group is blocked with triorganosilyltriflate or a strong acid and hexaorganodisilazane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
