<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a catalyst when stop and restart of fuel supply in an overspeed region is repeated while an internal combustion engine operates in an overspeed region. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel supply control device controls fuel supply to an internal combustion engine that includes a catalyst in an exhaust system. The fuel supply control device includes: a rotational speed detecting means detecting the engine rotational speed of the internal combustion engine; a fuel supply means supplying fuel; and a fuel supply control means which controls the fuel supply means to stop fuel supply when the detected engine rotational speed exceeds a first rotational speed and to restart fuel supply when the detected rotational speed decreases below a second rotational speed lower than the first rotational speed. The fuel supply control means controls the fuel supply means to supply the fuel, in restarting fuel supply in an overspeed region, so that an air-fuel ratio is leaner than a theoretical air-fuel ratio, thereby preventing excessive temperature increase of the catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
