<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swing training instrument which enables a resilient chord to apply a certain resistance against a force added by a user during an exercise of athletics. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to a training instrument for athletics and a usage method therefor. This instrument includes a resilient chord, a grip 110 having a near end, a far end and an axial hole 111, and a connecting member 112, which is a connecting member 112 arranged within the axial hole 111 of the grip 110 and constructed such that it protrudes from the axial hole 111 at the far end of the grip 110 and the far end of the grip 110 is connected to one end of the resilient chord. The connecting member 112 further includes a padded wrist strap 113 protruded from the axial hole 111 at the near end of the grip 110.
