<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain tensioner device in which a tensioner arm body constituting a part of a tensioner arm comprises a press-formed metal plate and the tensioner arm is energized toward a cam chain side, and in which assembling of a wedge and an energizing means is facilitated thereby the tensioner arm has compact and simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A tensioner arm 35A includes a tensioner arm body 39A and a sliding member 40 having a sliding face 58 to slide on a cam chain 25 and held by the tensioner arm body 39A. A wedge receiving part 36 and a wedge 37 to slide on the tensioner arm body 39A are slidably held by the tensioner arm body 39A.
