<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce illuminance irregularities on a surface to be read when using a light emitting element such as an LED element in a reader. <P>SOLUTION: In a reader including a surface to be read, for mounting a reading object, and a light source body for illuminating the surface to be read, emission light of an LED 6 is radiated toward a surface 3 to be read through light guide bodies 81-84 and 91-92; prism surfaces 8b and 9b where a plurality of prism-like protrusions 11 with a triangular cross section are arranged in an extending direction of the light guide bodies are provided on back surfaces opposite to emission surfaces 8a and 9a of the light guide bodies; and the emission light of the LED directed toward the prism surface is reflected to an emission surface side by the prism surface and is emitted from the emission surface. Since the light guide body can be formed in an arbitrary shape, even when the light emitting element is arranged near an edge of the surface to be read in the plane view, the emission light can be directed to an arbitrary position of the surface to be read by the light guide body, and the illuminance irregularities on the surface to be read are reduced by appropriate arrangement of the plurality of light guide bodies. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
