<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent constant discharge from a nozzle even when a control failure such as a failure of a circuit control element (ASIC) occurs. <P>SOLUTION: Pressure generating elements arranged to correspond to respective nozzles are connected to switches in a circuit control element. Opening/closing of the switch is controlled by a control signal, and thereby application/non-application of voltage to each pressure generating element is controlled. Voltage waveform output from a voltage waveform generating means includes waveform for bubble engulfing drive for generating pressure change engulfing bubbles from the nozzle. When the waveform for bubble engulfing drive is applied to the pressure generating element, bubbles enter inside the nozzle, and the nozzle is brought into a non-discharge state. Voltage waveform obtained by combining the waveform for bubble engulfing drive (a waveform part A) with the waveform for discharge drive (a waveform part B) may be used, and the waveform for bubble engulfing drive and the waveform for discharge drive may be selectively output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
