PURPOSE: An elevator door opening and shutting apparatus is provided to prevent the entire size of the apparatus from being enlarged since a drive unit is not more protruded than the upper portion of frame of the lifting cage. CONSTITUTION: An elevator door opening and shutting apparatus includes a drive unit and a door opening/closing unit(50). The drive unit and the door opening/closing unit are combined with the lifting cage(20). The drive unit includes a drive motor(31), pulleys(33,35), and a guide belt(36). A drive motor is combined with the frame(21) located in the top of the cage door. Multiple pulleys are connected to the driving shaft of the drive motor. A guide belt is formed with the extension to the opening-and-closing direction of the cargo door. The door opening/closing unit combined with the slide block(38) opens and closes the cage door and the door of each level.
