PURPOSE: A location measurement method using an AP(access point) and apparatus thereof are provided to optimize patterns by determining similarity between the patterns and by selecting pattern analysis complexity. CONSTITUTION: A location measurement apparatus arranges orders according to a signal strength of an AP received in a reference location(S200). The location measurement apparatus arranges signal strength orders according to a signal strength of the AP received through a wireless communication module in a current location of a terminal(S210). The location measurement apparatus calculates a characteristic value for the current location of the terminal(S220). The location measurement apparatus compares a signal strength order of a first list with a signal strength order of a second list(S230). The location measurement apparatus determines a first current location by comparing a first characteristic value with a second characteristic value(S240).
