<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cause a container to store the accurate decrease amount of toner in the container, and determine the accurate remaining amount of toner in the container. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a developing unit that develops images; an intermediate hopper that has a toner detector, and supplies toner to the developing unit; a container that feeds toner into the intermediate hopper, and has a supply amount storage unit that stores the accumulated toner supply amount; a feeding unit that feeds toner from the container to the intermediate hopper; a control unit that determines whether or not the container is in an empty state, and whether or not the container has been replaced; a reader/writer that causes the supply amount storage unit to update the accumulated toner supply amount; and a storage unit that stores the integrated value of the toner supply amount in a container empty mode. The reader/writer causes the supply amount storage unit of the container to add the integrated value to the accumulated toner supply amount to update the accumulated toner supply amount after the replacement of the container. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
