PURPOSE: A thermal reserve zone position detecting method for a blast furnace is provided to prevent accidents and stably produce hot metal by accurately predicting abnormal furnace conditions. CONSTITUTION: A thermal reserve zone position detecting method for a blast furnace comprises the steps of: detecting first temperature data by an AV probe located above a material loaded in the blast furnace and second temperature data by a shaft probe located in the center of the blast furnace(100), calculating temperatures according to unit height between the AV probe and the shaft probe based on the first and second temperature data(200), and calculating the height of a thermal reserve zone using the calculated temperatures(300).
