摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unevenness in gloss and fixability of an image and flicker noise by reducing overshoot, undershoot, and a temperature ripple of a heating body at the time of starting a heater as well as during paper feeding. <P>SOLUTION: The image heating device includes a heating member including a heater and a pressure member, and makes a recording material having an unfixed toner image held thereon pass through a fixing nip part formed by pressing the heating member and the pressure member to each other, to heat and fix the image. Furthermore, the image heating device includes temperature detection means for detecting a temperature of the heater and power control means for determining a power to be supplied to the heater, every prescribed control period on the basis of the detection result of the temperature detection means. The control period of the power control means is shorter in an interval when the heater is started before passage of the recording material through the fixing nip, than in a paper feeding interval when the recording material is made to pass through the fixing nip. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
