<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic signal control system detecting a dilemma vehicle and allowing the dilemma vehicle to smoothly and preferentially travel in an intersection. <P>SOLUTION: A signal control device 18 includes: a control section 19 for generating a step signal for changing over an operation of each signal light installed at an intersection for each one step; and a signal control circuit 20 for counting steps by a plurality of step counters 27 and 28 on the basis of step signals generated by the control section 19 and changing over among multiple-directional operations of the signal light. The signal control devices 18 are installed at a plurality of intersections, and dilemma vehicle detectors 17 for recognizing an emergency vehicle heading for the intersection are installed in the upstream side of the intersections. The signal control device 18 controls the signal light in the traveling direction of the dilemma vehicle to elongate or shorten the blue light on the basis of the dilemma vehicle detecting signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
