<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image identification device which accurately identifies an image showing a laterally-facing two-wheeler. <P>SOLUTION: In an image identification device, a window image extraction part 22 extracts a window image and divides it into an upper part and a lower part. A cell feature amount calculation part 24 calculates a gradient histogram of each cell in the window image. An upper block setting part 26 scans a block consisting of the predetermined number of sequential cells in the upper part of the window image, and an upper feature vector calculation part 28 calculates an image feature vector from the gradient histogram of each block. A lower block setting part 30 scans a block consisting of the predetermined number of symmetrically-located cells in the lower part of the window image, and a lower feature vector calculation part 32 calculates an image feature vector from the gradient histogram of each block. An identification part 36 identifies, on the basis of the calculated upper and lower image feature vectors, whether an image shows a laterally-facing two-wheeler with a rider or not. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
