<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image and sound reproduction device capable of shortening time necessary for time search processing to an AVI(Audio Visual Interleaving) file in which sound is s CBR (Constant Bit Rate). <P>SOLUTION: The image and sound reproduction device for reproducing an AVI file includes a control part (CPU7) for estimating "a sound chunk total size in one movi channel" when a time search to an AVI file whose sound is a constant bit rate is instructed, determining in which AVI chunk a sound chunk of a time search destination exists, reading an idx1 chunk of a "determined AVI chunk" without reading an idx1 chunk of an AVI chunk other than the "determined AVI chunk", and determining a reproduction start position corresponding to the time search. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
