<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill positioning method of a bill processor capable of improving accuracy and stability of bill identification in a simple structure and at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The bill processor includes a body 1, a transmission device 2 and an identification device 3. When a user obliquely inserts a bill 4 into an inclined path 11 of the body 1, a sensor 31 of the identification device 3 detects passing of the bill 4, activates a pressurizing module 21 of the transmission device 2, and pressurizes the bill 4. Then, after the bill 4 advances to a path inner side, the user can release a hand. Then, when the bill 4 is moved for a prescribed distance, the bill 4 is released. At the time, the bill 4 slides downward due to influence of gravity, and a side edge in the longitudinal direction of the bill 4 is abutted to a side plate 112 and positioned.
