<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver and an optical communication system that allow optical communication with enhanced interference resistance by making it possible to reduce influence of disturbance light irrelevant of the optical frequency of the disturbance light even for signal light with a narrow chirp width. <P>SOLUTION: A receiver and an optical communication system according to the invention receives, as reception target, light with an optical frequency synchronized with signal light the optical frequency of which changes during at least one symbol period of data and also receives, as reception target, light which has a prescribed optical frequency difference from the signal light, and cancels the interference light component remaining in the output of the former by the interference light in the output of the latter by subtracting the output of the latter from the output of the former. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
