<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize an installation space of a staircase when not using the staircase. <P>SOLUTION: For a movable staircase, a plurality of treads 13 are alternately installed in a direction crossing girder members 11 and 12. A pull-up mechanism 20 for pulling up the staircase is provided on an upper end part of the staircase, and turning members 15 such as casters are provided on a lower end part of the staircase. Thus, a staircase part 10 is pulled up by the pull-up mechanism 20, and the lower end part of the staircase is drawn to a vertical lower position of the upper end part of the staircase. The pull-up mechanism 20 comprises a roughly U-shaped frame body 21, long axis screw rods 23 are equipped along vertical frames on both sides of the frame body, a horizontal rail 25 provided with female screw parts to be screwed to the long axis screw rods 23 on both ends thereof is disposed, and by rotating one of the long axis screw rods 23, the horizontal rail 25 is moved up and down.
