<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a segment type stator which improve an insulation quality of a coil end portion. <P>SOLUTION: A segment type stator comprises: a stator core 20 which has a plurality of slots 12; a substantially U-shaped segment Sg which is inserted into the slot 12; and a segment coil SC in which lead sides of the segment Sg are twisted and joined to be formed into an annular shape. The segment type stator has an interphase insulated paper 25 which is inserted into a coil end portion of the segment Sg and is rectangular in shape. The segment type stator has an inner circumferential side end portion which is disposed in an inner circumferential side of the stator core 20 and an outer circumferential side end portion which is disposed in an outer circumferential side of the stator core 20. The inner circumferential side end portion and the outer circumferential side end portion are overlapped and are arranged concentrically to an end surface of the stator core 20. An end surface of the inner circumferential side end portion is arranged toward a twisted direction of the end of the segment Sg adjacent to the inner circumferential side of the stator core 20.
