OPTICAL SCANNER AND OPTICAL PATTERN READER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deviation between a scan object and a position of a beam waist regardless of an increase in scan angle.

SOLUTION: An optical scanner includes a light source for outputting a laser beam and scan means for reflecting the laser beam from the light source to make the laser beam periodically scan. The scan means includes a mirror portion reflecting the laser beam and driving means which changes a curvature of the mirror portion with a half of a scan period so that the beam waist position of the laser beam moves on a virtual plane during one scan.
