EQUIPMENT TO OBTAIN 3 POINT WATER VELOCITY AT A STREAM USING USGS TYPE PYGMY METER

PURPOSE: A three-point method flow velocity measuring device using a current meter for small stream is provided to improve the reliability of flow velocity data, by rapidly determining flow velocity for each water depth at a specific duration and location. CONSTITUTION: A vertical support(10) comprises a length measurement making indicator in a longitudinal direction(12). A support(14) is fixed to the underwater surface by being fixed at the low-end of the vertical support. A foldable stand(20) is fixed on one side of the support and by installing multi-stage foldable member in a parallel direction with the vertical support, it is newly built equidistantly. A current meter(40) is installed in three-stage in order to measure the three-point flow velocity of the folder member. A monitoring device(50) collects 3 channel flow velocity data from current meters, measures flow velocity for each water depth at a specific duration and location, and calculates an average flow velocity.
