<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect phase short circuit of a motor at high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The motor control device comprises an inverter circuit part for converting a direct current into plural phases of alternating currents and outputting the alternating current to a motor having a stator coil, a current sensor for detecting the alternating current outputted to the motor, a drive control part for controlling driving of the inverter circuit part using a current value detected by the current sensor, a first change rate detector for acquiring the current value detected by the current sensor and detecting a change rate of the current value per unit time, and a first determination apparatus for acquiring detection results of the first change rate detector, and determining whether the change rate of the current value per unit time is not less than a predetermined value or not.
