<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loop coil for detecting a longitudinal tear of conveyor belt, along with a method of manufacturing the same, wherein the loop coil can improve durability when subjected to practical use by being embedded in a conveyor belt. <P>SOLUTION: This loop coil for detecting a longitudinal tear of a conveyor belt comprises a tubular body 2 configured by braiding a plurality of wire members 3a, 3b including at least one metal wire member 3a. A longitudinal direction one end of the tubular body 2 includes a portion L where a tubular body 2, by being inserted from the other end side, overlaps therewith in a dual form.
